Vision Testing
A vision screening, also called an eye test, is a brief examination that looks for potential vision problems and eye disorders. In addition to checking for defects or impairments in your field of vision, these tests may also measure the ability to see near and far distances, colour vision, as well as a variety of other functions of the eye.
Physical Examination
In a physical examination a medical practitioner examines a patient for any possible medical signs or symptoms of a medical condition. In general, the standard physical exam typically includes vital signs, vision acuity, as well as inspection, auscultation, palpation, and testing, of the head, eyes, ears, nose and throat, as appropriate.
Urinalysis
Urine testing provides a manner of checking overall health, diagnosing a medical condition, and monitoring a medical condition. Urinalysis (i.e. test of your urine) involves checking the appearance, concentration, and content of urine
Vital Signs
Various measurements of the body’s most basic functions are known as vital signs. We use vital signs to detect and monitor medical problems. The four vital signs that our team regularly monitors include:
- • Body temperature
- • Pulse rate
- • Respiration rate (rate of breathing)
- • Blood pressure (Blood pressure is not considered a vital sign, but is often measured along with the vital signs.)
Drug Testing
For the safety of all parties (employees, customers and employers) it is important to ensure that employees are not working under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Drug testing of employees takes place either pre-employment, after an accident or on a regular basis to ensure safety in the workplace. The purpose of a drug test or a toxicology test is to look for traces of drugs in the urine, blood, hair, sweat, or saliva.
Audiometry
In order to ensure their employees’ long-term hearing health, employers should be aware of this risk. An audiometric screening is designed to determine if potential hearing loss exists and if diagnostic evaluation is warranted. The screening is quick and easy. In order to determine the nature and extent of your hearing loss or acuity, an Audiology Specialist performs a comprehensive hearing evaluation.
Job Specific Medicals
In addition to the standard medical examination, we also perform specific assessments for pre-determined high-risk tasks and/or occupations, including:
- General worker medical
- Working at heights
- Confined space entry
- Operator/Driver medical
- Food handler medical
- Thermal stress; and
- other occupational based risk assessments.
